We’ve received many awards over our 70-year history, but this Award is especially meaningful for the Credit Union because it recognizes our Associates’ extreme satisfaction with our culture and organization.”

- Shruti Miyashiro, President and CEO of Orange County’s Credit Union (2008 Award for Workplace Excellence winner)
The Peter Barron Stark Companies’ Award for Workplace Excellence is a prestigious award given to companies who utilize our employee opinion survey program and exceed an overall favorable response of at least 80%. This award is different from many other workplace awards because it is a true indicator of workplace excellence through employee’s opinions, rather than a tally of votes online. Winners of the Award for Workplace Excellence use this award to advertise their company and to position themselves as an organization that values employee engagement when recruiting, attracting high quality employees who are interested in maintaining workplace excellence.

Quotes from Past Award Winners
It’s wonderful to know from staffs’ anonymous comments, where we do exceptionally well and where we can improve. Knowing exactly where we need to improve allows us to keep this “top of mind” as it becomes part of strategic plan with everyone and showing how we all are part of that (through actual numbers) makes everyone part of the organization and its success.”
VP HRD, Columbia Credit Union
The information received through the Employee Opinion Survey provided us with a snapshot of the organization, allowing us to clearly and quickly recognize areas of strengths and immediate areas for improvement. Without the survey results, the lengthy, time consuming process of identifying these opportunities may have left us at a disadvantage in the industry.”
EVP/Director of Human Resources, California Bank & Trust
It is truly an honor to receive this award as it speaks to our associate-focused culture. We strive for on-the-job satisfaction and understand the importance of showing associates they are a significant part of the Credit Union’s success. Such an environment, in turn, allows associates to offer members the exemplary customer service that builds long-lasting relationships.”
President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union
Simply asking all employees how they feel about a variety of issues reinforces that we are a company that cares about and values their opinions. The survey offered everyone a confidential way to communicate their feelings. It also gave management a tangible understanding of what we do well and where we can improve. The key is how we’ve acted and will continue to act on the information.”
